Celebrate all things ‘ukulele on Saturday, March 2nd at the 19th Annual Great Waikoloa ‘Ukulele Festival. The free event will feature ‘ukulele giveaways, a workshop by Roy Sakuma, informational booths, and an all star line-up on three stages at Kings’ Shops and Queens’ MarketPlace.

This FREE festival starts with a very educational and fun workshop put on by world-renowned Roy Sakuma and friends at Queens’ MarketPlace. Beginners and longtime players alike can learn Roy’s style of ‘ukulele playing. Many who have come in the past have learned a song or two which are typically performed at either of the Waikoloa Beach Resort Shopping centers.

Hawai`i’s top `ukulele entertainers headline this annual musical extravaganza at Queens’ MarketPlace and Kings’ Shops. Whether you are a resident or a visitor, the rhythmic sound of the `ukulele will bring you back to a time of the beauty and magic of Old Hawai`i. The music will make you dance and be part of this once-a-year event that showcases the unique sound that is known worldwide.

This year’s line-up includes Roy Sakuma, John Keawe, Widdy Loo, Brian Vasquez, and many more. Performances kick off at 11am at Kings’ Shops and 12pm at Queens’ MarketPlace.

This year’s Avocado Festival will be held at Hale Halawai Park and Pavilion from 10am-5pm on Saturday, February 23rd!

The free, zero-waste event offers non-stop activities for attendees of all ages. Family fun includes an avocado recipe demonstration, food sampling, an avocado grafting demo, avocado tree sale, arts & crafts and healing arts. Moku O Keawe International Hula Festival

Moku O Keawe’s signature event returns to Waikoloa Beach Resort with both traditional and modern forms of hula, plus workshops by esteemed practitioners, lectures, and exhibitions.

The Moku O Keawe International Hula Festival was founded on the principals of hula, its teachings, and the related arts and crafts.  We continue to keep our mission alive through performances, workshops, and a competition.  

Our signature event returns to Waikoloa Bowl on February 21, 2019.  The competition will feature halau showcasing various age groups both in traditional and modern forms.  Registration is open for the competition, inviting you to submit your request!

We offer workshops by esteemed judges and practitioners.  There will be informative lectures on traditions, methods, and style.  We also invite you to the Exhibitions, a program that initiates and teaches novice groups.

We offer a historic perspective to hula!  E hele mai!

Culinary Arts Under the Stars at the Kings’ Shops at Waikoloa Beach Resort is coming up on Friday February 8th!

Please join us for the 7th year of this premier culinary extravaganza presented by Kings Shops. Stroll under the stars and sample fine cuisine from local chefs at tasting stations throughout the center. Sip beer or wine and enjoy the music of Grammy award-winning guitarist, Jeff Peterson.

This year’s event will benefit the Waikoloa Dry Forest Initiative a local nonprofit organization working to preserve, protect and restore native dry forest in Waikoloa.

There will be an exciting silent auction with art, luxury items, gift certificates to amazing restaurants and adventure packages. All proceeds will benefit their conservation and education programs.

Waimea Cherry Blossom Heritage Festival is this Saturday!

The festival showcases the 60+ year old cherry trees planted at Church Row Park and the Japanese tradition of viewing them – hanami.

The festival includes a variety of activities during the day at venues throughout Waimea – look for pink banners identifying site locations from the Parker Ranch Historic Homes on Mamalahoa Hwy. 190 to the Hawaiian Homestead Farmer’s Market on Hwy. 19.

Enjoy an all day lineup of Japanese and multi-cultural performing arts, plus hands-on demonstrations of bonsai, origami, traditional tea ceremony, and mochi pounding, and a host of colorful craft fairs.
