Join the ‘Ohi’a Love Fest on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 from 9 am to 4 pm at ‘Imiloa for a fun FREE festival celebrating ‘ohi’a trees! There will be Rapid ‘Ohi’a Death (ROD) information, live music, entertainment, talks, games, prizes, face painting, a photo booth, educational booths and displays, crafts, demonstrations on how to reduce the spread of Rapid ‘Ohi’a Death, free admission into ‘Imiloa, food, and so much more!
We will also be offering $10 off all levels of ‘Imiloa membership, whether you are new to ‘Imiloa or renewing your membership. This discount will be reserved for memberships purchased on-site on Sunday, August 27. Even if your membership isn’t about to expire, you are welcome to take advantage of this discount and renew early! And if you aren’t a member yet, Become a Member …and Make Every Day a Free Day!
This will be a zero-waste event, so don?t forget your reusable water bottle! We?ll have free refill-stations with ice-cold water!

Volcano Rain Forest Runs – Held in a very unique venue these races are among the most interesting found anywhere. Run at the cool, 4,000-foot elevation of Volcano Village through a native rainforest with beautiful views of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa volcanoes.
Half marathon, 10K or 5K run/walk for all ages/abilities, keiki runs and much more. Take part as a runner, walker, volunteer or spectator.

9th Annual Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai Festival is Saturday August 19, 2017!
Royal Kona Resort celebrates the legendary Mai Tai cocktail at the 9th Annual Don the Beachcomber Mai Tai Festival. Watch as over 20 of the world’s top bartenders converge on the Big Island of Hawaii to mix it up in a battle for the title of World’s Best Mai Tai and a $10,000 cash prize.
Festival Highlights Include:
🔅Mai Tai Marketplace: Shop for crafts and island treats from local artisans and merchants from 11am-4pm
🔅Battle of the BBQ: Taste and vote for Hawaii’s best barbecue from 11am-2pm
🔅Pool Party: Listen to live music from local Hawaiian artists by the pool from 2:30pm-4pm
🔅Mai Tai Mix-off: From 4:30pm – 7:30pm watch bartenders from around the world vie for the title of World’s Best Mai Tai and cash prizes. First place winner receives $10,000, second place winner receives $5,000, and third place winner receives $2,500.

Touch a Truck offers kids a hands-on opportunity to explore working trucks of all types. Children of all ages are invited to creatively explore the trucks with guidance from the professionals who use the trucks. Meet the people who build, protect and serve on the Big Island.
