Character….history….a storybook setting make this Kalopa property standout from the ordinary. This home incorporates into its core the Old Paauilo School, moved to this property from its original location many years ago. Additions over time have enlarged this shingle covered residence. Ocean views peak out form the trees.
A large barn with bath and office was built later to accommodate the horses who once roamed these pastures.
Attached to the barn is a two bay carport, adding parking spots to the other carport fronting the home. Your vision and some tender loving care can turn this into a true charmer.
The property is located about a half mile below the entrance to Kalopa State Park. Ride your horse up to the park to take advantage of the park’s equestrian trails. Enjoy the quiet neighborhood where I’o fly. This nearly 5-acres extends from Kalaniai Road to Kalopa Gulch at its rear boundary. The house and barn sit through the gate at the rear portion of the lot. Road front paddocks create a buffer zone that hides the home and barn from the street.
Do you see your horses and cows happily munching through the pastures? A homestead of your own in Kalopa!
If you are thinking of buying or selling a home please contact me!

Hawaii 1st Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Festival
Last year’s Sea Glass & Coastal Arts Boutique Festival – with vendors from the Big Island, the State of Hawai’i and the US Mainland – proved to be such an amazing success, that we will be holding it again the same week at the International Beachcombing Conference.
A boutique show, Hawaii’s First will feature 25 Best-of-the-Best and/or Most Unique sea glass jewelers & coastal artists, and vendors bulk selling authentic beach-found treasures (sea glass, beach pottery shards, fishing floats, etc.).
The Festival will also feature educational displays on beachcomb treasures from around the world, a Raffle, and a Swap Table filled with sea glass, shells, pottery shards and driftwood for visitors to comb through and take home.
Saturday, February 11, 2017 – 9 am to 5pm
The Festival will again take place at beautiful Anna Ranch in Waimea on the Big Island on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 9:00 – 5:00.
The first hour (9-10) includes a special $15-fee Early Bird Preview. This will be followed at 10 by a $5-fee General-Public opening. (Children under 12 are free.) A percentage of proceeds collected will be donated to the Big Island’s Surfrider Foundations.
To avoid product duplication, guarantee well-executed & authentic products, and provide the artists with optimum opportunities for a successful sales day, Hawaii’s 1st is a juried show.
It is important to note that no items made with SUNRISE SHELLS, a mollusk currently being harvested live throughout the Hawaiian chain, will be sold at Hawaii’s 1st Festival. And we encourage all merchandisers and product customers to avoid purchasing jewelry made with these shells unless you are certain they were ethically harvested (that is, found on the beach sans mollusk). (To learn the difference, email drbeachcomb@gmail.com.)
Date: 2/11/2017 (Saturday)
Where: Anna Ranch Heritage Center , 65-1480 Kawaihae Rd Waimea, HI 96743
Hours: 9 am to 5 pm
